Chigasaki City Museum of Art

The Chigasaki City Museum of Art stands within Takasuna Green Space Park, surrounded by pine trees in Kanagawa Prefecture.

The museum property was previously a villa owned by industrialist Yasusaburo Hara and the residence of Meiji-era actors Otojiro and Sadayakko Kawakami.

The collection includes 2,000 artworks by Japanese masters like Tetsugoro Yorozu, Keizo Koyama, and Kouitsu Tsuchiya, emphasizing connections to Chigasaki.

The museum welcomes visitors from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM with entry fees of 200 yen for adults and different rates for students and seniors.

The institution focuses on acquiring works from emerging Kanagawa artists while representing the artistic character of the Shonan region through its exhibitions.
