Vigolzone Castle, Medieval castle in Vigolzone, Italy

The castle exhibits a rectangular layout with two square towers at opposite corners and a massive angled tower in the left corner.

Built in 1330 by Bernardo Anguissola, a cavalry general serving Galeazzo I Visconti, the castle replaced an earlier structure destroyed in 1244.

The fortress housed a grammar school during the 15th century, established by Giovanni Carlo Anguissola for local education.

The ground floor contains the former feudal court room, while the first floor features the arms hall with decorative panels.

In 1888, the castle received poet Giosuè Carducci, who expressed his appreciation for the building in verses dedicated to Elvira Boselli.
