Santa Maria Assunta in Turro Church

Santa Maria Assunta in Turro is a church in Milan's Turro district with a three-part neoclassical facade featuring a central portal and rose window above. The interior is organized by tall columns and lit by windows that connect the different architectural zones.

A chapel first stood on this site in 1398, while the current building was constructed between 1885 and 1886 by architect Alfonso Parrocchetti. A transept with notable marble columns was added in the mid-20th century.

The church displays elaborate mosaics depicting the Crucifixion and the Assumption, alongside a carved wooden crucifix from the early 1500s. These religious artworks shape the interior atmosphere and invite visitors to pause for quiet contemplation.
