Parco Martesana, Green space along Naviglio Martesana canal in Gorla district, Milan, Italy.
Parco Martesana is a green space running along the historic Naviglio Martesana canal with walking and cycling paths shaded by maple and oak trees. Numerous benches line the banks, providing rest spots throughout the park.
The area was designated as green space in 1953 and opened to the public in 1978 under a different name. It received its current name in 2006.
The modern theater in the central section serves as a gathering place where residents attend performances and community events throughout the year. Local groups use this venue to organize social activities and stay connected with their neighborhood.
The park includes four separate dog areas and multiple playgrounds for children spread across the grounds. Visitors can enter from Via Agordat, Via Toselli, or Via Ponte Nuovo.
Within the park stand the remains of Villa Angelica, which includes a distinctive hexagonal turret visible after restoration work. This structure quietly recalls the residential history that once characterized this location.
