COSTA TOWER浦和, Skyscraper in Urawa, Japan
Costa Tower Urawa is a 31-story skyscraper standing about 108 meters (355 feet) tall in the heart of Urawa. The building houses residential apartments, retail shops, office spaces, and a parking garage within its mixed-use design.
Construction began in February 2004 and finished two years later, bringing significant urban renewal to the Urawa district. The project replaced an older neighborhood area that had been home to local merchants and shops.
The tower represents modern Japanese architectural design while integrating with traditional elements of Urawa, including the nearby Chōjin Shrine.
The tower sits directly adjacent to Urawa Station and is easy to reach by public transportation. Shopping and dining options are located on the ground level, while parking is available inside the building for those arriving by car.
The ground level houses the Costa Urawa Shopping Association, which continues the legacy of roughly 19 shops from the neighborhood that once stood there. This arrangement preserves the area's local merchant heritage despite the tower's modern character.
