Tokorozawa Sakura Town, Pop cultural complex in Higashi-Tokorozawa-Wada, Japan.
Tokorozawa Sakura Town is a cultural complex in Higashi-Tokorozawa-Wada housing the Kadokawa Culture Museum, which spans multiple floors with a striking granite exterior made of thousands of stone pieces arranged in patterns. Inside, the facility contains extensive library collections, exhibition spaces, and areas dedicated to contemporary installations.
The site opened in August 2020 as a joint venture between Kadokawa Corporation and Tokorozawa city to establish a hub for Japanese entertainment and media. This partnership brought a new center for the region's cultural development.
The complex celebrates contemporary Japanese pop culture through exhibitions of manga, digital art, and media works displayed across its galleries. Visitors experience how these different creative forms come together under one roof.
The site is easily accessible on foot in under 10 minutes from Higashi Tokorozawa station, with parking available near the entrance. Visitors can reach the complex conveniently using various arrival options.
A striking feature within the grounds is the Musashino Reiwa Shrine, whose contemporary design incorporates metallic elements. At the shrine's entrance stand decorative komainu sculptures specifically created by artist Yoshimasa Tsuchiya.
