Ishigaki Stalactite Cave

The cave extends 3.2 kilometers underground, with 660 meters accessible to visitors through illuminated pathways displaying mineral formations and underground pools.

Geological processes spanning over 200,000 years created this underground network, which opened for public exploration in June 1994.

Local guides share information about the Senkyo Area, considered a spiritually significant location within the cave system by regional inhabitants.

The cave maintains a temperature of 22 degrees Celsius throughout the year and operates daily from 9:00 to 18:30, with final entry at 18:00.

Fossilized remains of marine creatures within the cave walls demonstrate the transformation of ancient coral reefs into the current limestone formations.
