Joetsu City History Museum

The Joetsu City History Museum exhibits artifacts and records that document the development of the Joetsu region through detailed displays and informative presentations.

The museum, which opened in July 2018, stands within the grounds of Takada Castle Site Park, where the former residence of Matsudaira Tadateru once stood.

The museum preserves the heritage of Joetsu through exhibitions of local artifacts, traditional crafts, and documented narratives of regional customs and traditions.

Visitors can reach the museum via a 15-minute walk from Takada Station on the Myoko-haneuma Line, with parking available for 850 vehicles.

The outer moat surrounding the museum transforms into a natural exhibition space from late July to mid-August when numerous lotus flowers emerge in full bloom.
