Joetsu City History Museum

The Joetsu City History Museum is located within Takada Castle Site Park and displays artifacts and documents that show how the region developed over time. The exhibition space is organized to guide visitors through different periods and aspects of local history.

The museum opened in 2018 within the grounds where a daimyo's residence from the 1600s once stood. The site holds significance as a center of regional importance for centuries.

The outer moat around the museum blooms with numerous lotus flowers from late July through mid-August, creating a natural display. This seasonal transformation adds an unexpected element to the visit.
