The construction of Teatro Regina Margherita began in 1870 under Mayor Gaspare Matrona, utilizing land from the former Santa Chiara Monastery garden.
The theatre opened in 1880 with a performance of Rigoletto, followed by a commemorative dinner and dance at the municipal palace.
Located at Via Vittorio Emanuele in Racalmuto, the theatre maintains a capacity of 250 seats and continues to host performances throughout the year.
The architectural design by Dionisio Sciascia incorporated acoustic studies that were later applied to the Teatro Massimo in Palermo.
