Teatro Sociale

Teatro Sociale is a theater building in this Sicilian town designed according to traditional Italian opera house principles. The main hall features an elliptical shape with boxes arranged in a horseshoe formation and seats approximately 300 spectators.

The building was designed in 1889 by architect Ernesto Basile and completed in 1908 on the site of a former Carmelite monastery. After decades of use, a major renovation project brought the space back to service in 2009.
