Vassallaggi, Archaeological site in San Cataldo, Italy.
The archaeological complex of Vassallaggi extends across five hills between the Salso and Platani rivers at 704 meters above sea level.
The site reveals continuous habitation from the Early Bronze Age through 320 BCE, with evidence of Sicanian settlements and Greek colonization.
The sanctuary between the second and third hills contained an altar for sacrifices and rooms with terracotta busts dedicated to Demeter and Kore.
The archaeological area features marked paths starting from the sacred area, leading visitors through ancient necropolises, cisterns, and residential structures.
The necropolis contains alabaster plaster sarcophagi and Attic imports from prominent Athenian workshops of the fifth century BCE.
