Villa Almerico Capra

The square-plan villa features four identical facades with porticos, staircases, and a central circular hall topped by a dome measuring 11 meters in diameter.

Paolo Almerico commissioned architect Andrea Palladio to design the villa between 1566 and 1567, with Vincenzo Scamozzi completing the construction in 1605.

The villa contains numerous frescoes in its four main salons, depicting religious themes and allegories that represent the fundamental virtues of its original owner.

Visitors can access the villa from Tuesday to Saturday between March and November, with different opening times for the interior and exterior sections.

The central hall receives natural light through twenty windows per floor, creating specific illumination patterns during equinoxes and solstices throughout the year.
