Nara Centennial Hall, Concert hall and theatre building near JR Nara Station, Japan.
Nara Centennial Hall is a modern performance venue with multiple rooms designed for different types of events. The main auditorium seats around 1,500 people, while a secondary hall accommodates roughly 400 visitors and a flexible meeting space holds 100.
The hall opened in 1999 to commemorate the centennial of Nara's city administration. Renowned architect Arata Isozaki designed this modernist building.
The hall serves as a venue for traditional Japanese arts including Noh theater and Rakugo storytelling, where visitors can experience local performance traditions. These events connect Nara with its cultural roots and draw both residents and travelers alike.
Visitors will find orientation support in four languages and adjustable seating arrangements throughout. The spacious entrance area with cafeteria and ticket counter makes navigation and event preparation straightforward.
The main auditorium features a flexible stage system that can be transformed into eight different configurations. The glass-walled secondary hall provides superior acoustics for more intimate performances.
