Teatro Politeama Giuseppe Verdi

The Teatro Politeama Giuseppe Verdi is an opera house in Carrara located on the north side of Piazza Matteotti. The building features two levels of arches and a main hall with high ceilings and ventilation systems from the 1890s construction period.

The house opened in 1892 with a performance of Rigoletto by international singers. In the following years it became an important venue for opera performances and attracted guest companies from across Europe.

The theatre carries Giuseppe Verdi's name and reflects his central role in opera history. Visitors can still see the simple interior design that gives the building a timeless quality.
