Tegarayama

Tegarayama is a small hill of about 50 meters (164 feet) in central Himeji with walking paths and plant collections. The site features maintained green areas, gardens with diverse vegetation, and open spaces for strolling.

The hill was developed in the 1990s with the creation of its botanical garden, bringing a new green space to Himeji's center. This project reflected the city's effort to add natural areas within urban neighborhoods.

The park serves as a gathering place where locals and visitors come to walk among plants and learn about the region's greenery. It demonstrates how communities value having natural spaces within their cities.

The hill is easy to reach by public transportation and lies close to the city center. Marked paths make the grounds straightforward to explore on foot.
