Haikara't Yokocho

Haikara't Yokocho is an amusement park located in the Karato harbor district of Shimonoseki. The grounds include a 60-meter Ferris wheel, battery-powered bumper cars, a carousel, and other rides suitable for different ages.

The park opened in 2013 as a recreational addition to the Karato port district. Its creation was part of a broader effort to develop the area as a destination for both visitors and local residents.

The space draws families and neighbors together for casual leisure time near the waterfront market area. People gather here to spend time with loved ones and enjoy the relaxed pace of the port district.

Entry to the park is free, but each ride requires a separate ticket. Weekends and holidays tend to be busy times when all attractions are fully open.

The Ferris wheel offers views of the Kanmon Strait and ships traveling between Honshu and Kyushu. From the top, visitors can see the waterway that connects these two islands busied by constant maritime traffic.
