ヴェルタワー下関

Vel Tower Shimonoseki is a modern residential high-rise building with 22 floors in central Shimonoseki. The structure houses 98 residential units, parking facilities, and the Shimonoseki Citizens Activity Center on its premises.

The tower was completed in 2007 on the grounds of a former railway freight yard through a joint urban redevelopment effort. This conversion represents a significant turning point in how the waterfront area was reimagined for modern use.

The building overlooks the Kanmon Strait and nearby Ganryujima Island, which is connected to a famous historical duel in Japanese martial arts tradition. This geographical connection to the past shapes how locals view their city's cultural heritage.
