Kanmon Strait Museum

The Kanmon Strait Museum features a glass-walled structure resembling a ship, with panoramic views of passing vessels through floor-to-ceiling windows on multiple levels.

The museum, which opened in 2003, documents the maritime history of the Kanmon Strait, connecting the Sea of Japan to the Seto Inland Sea since ancient times.

The exhibition halls contain detailed dioramas created by Japanese and Czech artists depicting historical figures such as Empress Jingū and Miyamoto Musashi.

Located near JR Mojiko Station, the museum operates from 9:00 to 17:00 with last admission at 16:30, offering multilingual exhibits in Japanese, English, Korean, and Chinese.

The interactive Ship Search panels allow visitors to identify vessels passing through the strait in real-time while learning about maritime navigation systems.
