Moji-ku, Harbor district in Kitakyushu, Japan

Moji-ku extends over 73 square kilometers along the Kanmon Straits, connecting the islands of Honshu and Kyushu through maritime routes.

The port received its international trade status in 1889 through Suematsu Kencho and became a primary departure point for troops during the 1905 Russo-Japanese War.

The Mojiko Retro District presents European architectural influences, including the central station designed after Rome's Termini Station and multiple preserved buildings.

Regular ferry services connect the district to major cities like Tokyo and Osaka, while the Kagoshima Main Line provides rail transportation across the region.

The Former Moji Mitsui Club holds the distinction of having hosted Albert Einstein and his wife during their visit to Japan in the 1920s.
