Moji Akarenga Place, Industrial heritage museum in Moji-ku, Kitakyushu, Japan.
Moji Akarenga Place is a museum in a red brick building on the waterfront in Moji-ku, Kitakyushu, Japan. It houses exhibition areas focused on the local industrial and maritime history of the region.
The building was constructed in 1913 as a brewery and operated under Suzuki Shoten, producing beer brands including Sakura Beer until it closed in 2000. The site was then converted into a museum to give the old structure a new purpose.
The complex tells the story of regional brewing craftsmanship and maritime traditions through displays that reveal how industrial work shaped the daily lives and economy of this port city.
The museum is within walking distance of the nearby train station, and the waterfront path makes the approach easy to follow. Visitors arriving by car will find parking available on site.
The site contains the Kitakyushu Beer and Brick Museum, which displays original brewing machines preserved from the factory's working years. These machines let visitors see directly how brewing technology changed over more than a century of production.
