Nagisa Aquarium, Public aquarium in Suō-Ōshima, Japan
The Nagisa Aquarium showcases 80 species and 750 marine creatures from the Seto Inland Sea through multiple exhibition tanks and specialized habitats.
The aquarium opened its doors in April 1990, establishing a dedicated facility for displaying and studying marine life native to the Seto Inland Sea region.
The facility features hand-drawn signs and illustrations of local fishermen, connecting visitors to the maritime traditions of the Yamaguchi Prefecture.
Located at Ihoda 2211-3, the aquarium operates from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM with adult admission at 210 yen and child tickets at 100 yen.
The aquarium maintains the largest collection of alveopora japonica coral specimens, which display green tentacles that shimmer under natural light.
