Bunkyo Civic Center, Government office building in Kasuga, Tokyo, Japan.
Bunkyo Civic Center is a 28-story skyscraper in Bunkyo ward that rises 141.7 meters with a modern glass and steel exterior designed by Nikken Sekkei. The building functions as an administrative center housing local government offices and public services.
The building opened in November 1994, replacing the earlier city hall that had served the district since 1959. This move consolidated all administrative functions in a new modern location.
The building contains a concert hall seating 1,802 people on its lower floors, where classical music performances and public events happen regularly throughout the year. This space serves the local community as an important gathering place for cultural activities.
Visitors can access the free observation deck on the 25th floor by taking high-speed elevators. The location provides views of Mount Fuji, Tokyo Skytree, and the city landscape stretching below.
The structure is the tallest ward office building among Tokyo's 23 special wards and connects directly to Kasuga and Korakuen subway stations. This direct connection to two train stations makes it easy to reach.
