The Komukomu museum displays 200 exhibits documenting the Great East Japan Earthquake, tsunami, and nuclear accident through damaged artifacts and detailed dioramas.

The facility opened in September 2020 to preserve records and teach about the 2011 natural disasters that impacted the Fukushima region and its nuclear power station.

Four daily storytelling sessions feature local survivors who share their personal experiences of evacuation during the successive disasters that struck Fukushima.

The museum provides guided tours, educational workshops, and field visits to affected areas like Futaba and Namie towns to explain the complexity of nuclear incidents.

The collection includes a fire engine damaged by tsunami waves and materials showing evacuation conditions following the nuclear power plant incident.
