Thatta Thattaha Maha Bawdi Pagoda, Buddhist temple in Pobbathiri Township, Naypyidaw, Myanmar.
The Thatta Thattaha Maha Bawdi Pagoda stands on a hilltop as a substantial multi-tiered structure with ornamental details throughout its design. The complex includes a main shrine building surrounded by courtyards and smaller structures that create a complete temple grounds.
The structure was completed in 2015 based on a historical Indian temple as its model. Its construction formed part of an urban development initiative for Naypyidaw.
The temple complex contains representations of four sacred sites connected to Buddha's life: his birth, his enlightenment, his first teaching, and his final passing. Visitors encounter these locations as they walk through the grounds.
The site welcomes visitors daily and is accessible via local roads leading to the hilltop location. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended, and visitors should wear modest clothing when entering sacred areas.
A ceremonial ritual in 2014 consecrated the main Buddha image and forged a spiritual connection to its ancient Indian source. This event marked the formal inauguration of its religious function.
