Głaz Leśników

Głaz Leśników is a towering memorial stone in Wielkopolska National Park standing over 4 meters high, with a circumference of around 10.5 meters and weighing more than 20 tons. This enormous boulder is positioned prominently in the forest landscape and marks a junction where hiking trails intersect.

The stone was erected in 1966 to commemorate a thousand years of Polish statehood. It honors the generations of foresters who worked to protect and manage the nation's forest resources.

The stone features an inscription honoring Polish foresters as defenders of their homeland and forest resources. Visitors can read this carved message and understand the important role these workers played in protecting the nation's natural wealth.

The stone sits at a junction where several hiking trails intersect, connecting areas like Puszczykówko, Sulęcinek, and Puszczykowo. It serves as a natural landmark and meeting point for visitors exploring the park's walking routes.

Military personnel from Poznań Tank Officers School and road construction workers volunteered to transport this massive boulder to its location. This remarkable effort demonstrates the community commitment to establishing the memorial.
