Bierbaum Mausoleum Tower, Historic watchtower in Szreniawa, Poland.
The Bierbaum Mausoleum Tower is an octagonal brick structure rising approximately 22 meters high, built with unplastered walls that show the raw masonry clearly. The building follows a Latin cross layout with dimensions of about 13.5 by 15.5 meters.
The structure was built around 1880 and initially served as a family burial chamber for the Bierbaum household. After 1945, the family remains were moved to a grave located beside the tower.
The structure takes its name from the Bierbaum family, who built it as their burial place and left their mark on the local landscape. The neogothic style reflects the taste and wealth of prominent landowners in the region during that era.
Visitors can enter through side doors and climb an internal staircase that leads to an observation terrace at the top. From this vantage point, you can see across the Wielkopolski National Park that surrounds the area.
Inside, there is a star-shaped vault that was originally designed as a burial chapel for the family. Today this central space has been transformed into an Educational Station run by the Szreniawa Museum.
