Zamek w Bydgoszczy, Medieval fortress in Bydgoszcz, Poland.

The castle structure consists of three perpendicular residential wings with a width of 13 meters, built from brick following Teutonic architectural patterns.

King Casimir the Great ordered the construction between 1343 and 1360 to strengthen the northern border fortifications along the Noteć and Vistula rivers.

The castle served as residence for Polish kings, including Casimir Jagiellon who made decisions about borders between Poland and the Teutonic Order.

Archaeological research continues since 1880, revealing ceramic fragments, stone cannonballs, and artifacts from the castle's operational period.

The fortress endured until 1656 when Swedish forces used explosives to destroy its residential wings and surrounding bastion fortifications.
