Старый вокзал, Heritage railway station in Ulyanovsk, Russia
The Old Railway Station features a central two-story building with a 38-meter tower topped by a red star and single-story wings connected by colonnades.
Construction of the station began in May 1951 under architect Mikhail Gotlib and replaced the original 1898 single-story red brick railway building.
The station building represents Stalinist architecture and received regional cultural heritage status in August 2018, marking its significance for the Ulyanovsk region.
The former passenger terminal on Railway Street now houses a restaurant complex that seats 300 people and operates daily from 11:00 to midnight.
Between 1980 and early 2000s, the historic station building contained a youth cafe called Pod Spilem, named after the prominent spire of the structure.
