House of Soviets, Government building in central Voronezh, Russia.
The House of Soviets is a seven-story administrative building in central Voronezh with a central block and symmetrical wings. The facades are decorated with friezes depicting workers and Soviet symbols.
Construction of the building began in 1953 under architects Lev Rudnev, Viktor Ass, and Aleksandr Mironov. It was completed in 1959.
The building displays hallmarks of Stalinist design through its monumental forms and decorative elements that expressed Soviet state power. Visitors can observe the symmetrical facades and reliefs depicting workers when passing by, which are characteristic of that era.
The building is located in the city center and is easy to reach. As the regional administrative center, it can be viewed from the outside, though access to interior spaces may be restricted.
The foundation was specially engineered to handle the region's soil conditions and the building's substantial weight. This technical solution allowed the massive structure to stand on a stable base.
