The Voronezh State Theater of Opera functions as a principal venue for classical performances, featuring both opera and ballet productions in southern Russia.
The theater evolved from a traveling troupe led by director Lazar Lazarev in the 1930s to become a complete opera and ballet institution in 1961.
The theater maintains an extensive repertoire of over 260 productions, including classical operas, ballets, operettas, musicals, and children's musical performances.
Located in the central Lenina Square of Voronezh, the theater serves the entire Central Chernozem region with regular performances throughout the year.
The theater company has performed in more than 20 countries, presenting Russian classical arts through international tours and collaborations.
