Wanås Castle Sculpture Park

Wanås Castle Sculpture Park is an outdoor art venue on castle grounds featuring around 80 permanent installations. The works come from artists representing different countries and cultural traditions.

The estate began as a fortified structure in the 16th century and gradually evolved into its current role as an art venue. The castle's original architecture remains intact from that earlier period.

Artists create works specifically for this location, establishing connections between their pieces and the natural landscape around them. Visitors discover how each work speaks to its particular setting in the surrounding countryside.

The park is open to visitors from April through early November and offers guided tours along with educational sessions. Schools and organized groups can participate in special programs during the season.

Each artwork in the collection sits in its precisely intended location, creating a permanent dialogue with the natural surroundings. This fixed arrangement means visitors always encounter the works in their original positions.
