Orchard Rendezvous Hotel, Singapore, hotel in Singapore, Singapore
The Orchard Rendezvous Hotel is a mid-range hotel on Orchard Road, Singapore's main shopping street in the central area. The building has several room categories, including family rooms and club floor rooms that come with access to a dedicated lounge.
The building first opened in 1970 and for many years operated under the name Orchard Parade Hotel. Far East Hospitality took it over in 2018, carried out a full renovation, and gave it its current name.
The hotel's name is a direct reference to the orchids that once grew in this part of Singapore, and that connection shows up throughout the building in leaf patterns and plant-inspired details. It is one of the few hotels along this stretch where the decor tells a story about the ground it stands on.
The hotel sits within easy walking distance of Orchard MRT station and the main shops and restaurants along the road, making it convenient to get around on foot. For anything further afield, staff at the front desk can point visitors in the right direction.
When the hotel opened in 1970, a new orchid variety was bred and named after it, which was an uncommon honor for a hotel. The site itself was once part of a pepper plantation, a fact that most guests walking through the lobby today would never guess.
