TripleOne Somerset is a 17-story mixed-use tower combining office spaces, medical facilities, and shops within a single structure. Its exterior showcases massive concrete walls accented with rectangular ceramic tiles that form the building's distinctive character.
The building opened in 1977 as the headquarters for the Public Utilities Board. It underwent several transformations and name changes over the decades, eventually becoming known as TripleOne Somerset.
The structure represents Singapore's architectural evolution, incorporating Brutalist design elements with concrete materials and rectangular ceramic tiles across its facade.
The tower connects to Somerset MRT station via a covered passageway, making it simple to reach by public transportation. The surrounding area offers plenty of shops and services within walking distance.
The structure presents itself on two major streets, Somerset Road and Devonshire Road, with distinct facades facing each direction. This dual presence creates multiple entry points and pedestrian routes through the complex.
