興福庄建塚紀念碑

The 興福庄建塚紀念碑 is a memorial marker on a hilltop near Jingmei Sports Park, featuring a natural stone top paired with a carved granite base. The monument displays inscriptions on all four sides documenting its purpose as a burial ground for underprivileged families.

The memorial was established in 1929 when local merchants and philanthropists pooled resources to create burial grounds for underprivileged families. This initiative addressed a social need across two communities during that period.

The monument features traditional Japanese memorial architecture with four sides containing inscribed donor names on Guanyin Mountain stone panels.

The monument is accessible by following a short walking path opposite Wanshan Temple near Xingshun Street. The uphill walk is manageable for most visitors and the path is generally well-defined on the ground.

The memorial stone contains detailed records of social contributions from prominent figures like Gu Xianrong, Chen Tianlai, and Lin Boshou.
