Gateway Center

Gateway Center is an office skyscraper in Newark's business district with multiple interconnected towers of steel and glass. The complex contains office spaces, retail shops, and restaurants alongside a direct connection to Newark Penn Station.

The building was completed in 1972 as a major turning point in Newark's urban renewal after decades of decline. The complex was part of broader efforts to revitalize the city's business district and restore economic activity.

The Gateway Center functions as a nexus for business meetings, professional networking, and local corporate events throughout the calendar year.

The interior is easy to navigate with multiple entrances and clear signage making it simple to find your way through different sections. The underground connecting passages provide shelter from bad weather and link all towers when moving between different parts of the complex.

A system of underground tunnels connects four separate towers allowing pedestrians to move between buildings entirely indoors. This hidden infrastructure makes the complex particularly convenient during cold or rainy seasons.
