40 Fountain Plaza

40 Fountain Plaza is a glass office tower with 13 floors and a height of approximately 225 feet in downtown Buffalo. The building features a two-story glass atrium connecting it to the adjacent 50 Fountain Plaza and provides about 157,700 square feet of office space served by five elevators.

The building became Delaware North's global headquarters in 1999 before the company relocated to Delaware Avenue in later years. This move marked a turning point in the complex's use.

The plaza transforms seasonally with a large reflecting pool during summer that becomes a free public ice rink in winter. This shift makes the space a gathering point for the community throughout the year.

The building is easy to reach by public transportation and sits in Buffalo's central business district with good accessibility. The surrounding plaza offers ample space to walk and linger, especially when the seasonal installations are active.

The building features a pyramid-shaped top with LED lighting strips that change colors during special occasions and holidays. This light display becomes a signature feature and draws attention to the skyline.
