Sea Dragon

Sea Dragon is a wooden roller coaster at Columbus Zoo and Aquarium that traces a figure-eight path across the park. The ride uses a single train with four cars carrying 16 passengers total in an open seating arrangement.

Built in 1956 by Philadelphia Toboggan Coasters, this attraction is the oldest operating wooden roller coaster in Ohio. Its design reflects the classic construction methods of that era and the engineering principles established by John Allen.

The American Coaster Enthusiasts organization designated Sea Dragon as an official Roller Coaster Landmark in 2022, recognizing its manual braking system and classic design.

Riders must be at least 42 inches (107 cm) tall and need adult supervision at this height, or at least 48 inches (122 cm) to ride without supervision. Each ride lasts about one and a half minutes and the coaster operates with a manual braking system.

The coaster features a single train with four cars that accommodate 16 passengers, arranged in two rows of two seats without dividers between them.
