Dublin Link

Dublin Link is a pedestrian and cycling bridge spanning the Scioto River in downtown Dublin, featuring a distinctive central tower that rises above the water. The deck accommodates both walkers and cyclists, providing a direct connection between recreation areas and commercial spaces on both banks.

The bridge concept originated from proposals in the 1980s before construction finally began in 2017. It opened to the public in 2020, marking a long-awaited connection across the river.

The bridge connects the traditional Historic Dublin district with the modern Bridge Park area, serving as a physical link between two neighborhoods with different characters and purposes. Walking across it, you experience a transition from one part of town to another, with each side offering its own identity and pace.

The bridge is open to both pedestrians and cyclists, with clear pathways and good sight lines across the river and banks. Weather and river conditions are the main factors affecting comfort while crossing.

This is the world's only single-tower S-shaped suspension bridge, a distinction that makes it remarkable for bridge engineering. The unusual curved form and cable system create a distinctive visual signature when viewed from different angles.
