St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Parish Complex

St. Francis Xavier Complex is a Catholic parish site in Buffalo with a church in Lombard-Romanesque Revival style, a rectory in Queen Anne style, and a school. The three buildings spread across 2.2 acres (0.9 hectares) and display different architectural features.

The church was built between 1911 and 1913 as the center of the parish. The site developed in stages from the late 1800s through 1956 as additional structures were added.

The Religious Arts Center manages this site and preserves sacred objects from churches that closed throughout the region. Visitors can see religious artworks that might otherwise have been lost.

The complex is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and open for visitor exploration. The best time to visit is on quieter days when you can appreciate the architecture without crowds.

A bell tower rises from the southwest corner of the main building with a four-sided clock in its upper section. This striking feature makes the church visible from far away in the urban landscape.
