Delaware Park–Front Park System, Historic park district in Buffalo, New York.
The Delaware Park-Front Park System is a large green space in northern Buffalo featuring open fields, lakes, and wooded paths throughout its grounds. The area offers recreational options including a golf course, tennis courts, baseball fields, and boat rentals on its lakes.
The park system was designed between 1868 and 1876 by landscape architects Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux. Their plan transformed Buffalo by creating connected green spaces that shaped the city's character for generations.
The grounds host Shakespeare in Delaware Park, an outdoor theater festival that brings classical plays to audiences during summer evenings and draws people from across the region.
Visitors can rent boats on the lakes or use the various sports facilities and golf course throughout the grounds. The different areas are easy to explore on foot, and there are plenty of spots to rest along the way.
A replica of Michelangelo's David has stood in the park since 1903, placing classical art in the middle of nature. This sculpture remains one of the most unexpected artworks visitors encounter during their visit.
