Yates Cider Mill

The facility opened in 1863 as a grain mill and switched to cider production in 1876. This shift established its role as a regional apple juice producer that has continued for generations.

Local families visit during autumn to watch cider being made and enjoy fresh apple treats together. The place has become a seasonal gathering spot where people come to experience traditional food production firsthand.

The facility operates each day from September to November and offers cider, baked goods, maple syrup, and fudge. Tours can be arranged on weekdays if you ask ahead.

The building houses an original water turbine from 1894 that still produces cider every day during the season. This working vintage machine surprises visitors who expect such equipment to have been replaced long ago.
