Church of the Annunciation-Catholic, Catholic church in Webster Township, United States.
The Church of the Annunciation is a church building in Webster Township featuring wooden structures, sloping roofs, wide overhanging eaves, and a corner tower. Architect John Wheeler designed it in the American Craftsman style.
The building was constructed in 1913 after the original chapel from 1853 was destroyed by lightning. It received National Register of Historic Places status in 1982.
Inside, carved wooden statues stand beside the altar and stained glass windows show religious scenes, including portrayals of Saint Joseph and the Annunciation. These artistic elements give the interior its character.
The building is located on Hazelwood Avenue and is regularly open for visitors. It functions as part of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis.
The construction blends Craftsman and Shingle style elements and was built using local materials under builder Joseph Kump's supervision. This mix of architectural approaches gives the structure its distinctive appearance among buildings from that era.
