Angel Museum, Angel figurines museum in Beloit, United States.
The Angel Museum occupied a former Catholic church building near Beloit's riverfront and displayed thousands of porcelain angel collectibles arranged in glass cases throughout the space. The entire building served as a dedicated showcase for angel figurines presented in a specialized exhibition setting.
The museum was founded in 1998 based on a personal collection that Joyce and Lowell Berg started in 1976 with a single angel figure purchased during a Florida vacation. Their decades-long collecting passion built the collection into a significant repository before the museum eventually closed in 2018.
Television personality Oprah Winfrey contributed 600 African-American angel figurines to the museum, enhancing the representation of diversity in the collection.
The museum was located in an accessible former church building that was relatively easy to find within Beloit's layout. Visitors should note that the facility permanently closed and is no longer open to the public.
The collection held over 12000 different angel figurines, including unusual pieces made from spaghetti, fire alarms, and Wisconsin cheesehead designs. Each figurine was distinct, showcasing the creative range of the theme.
