Spangler Center, Student center at Harvard Business School in Boston, United States
Spangler Center is a student hub at Harvard Business School featuring two floors and approximately 122,000 square feet of space. Its red brick walls, limestone accents, and slate roof reflect the architectural style of the surrounding campus.
Robert A.M. Stern Architects designed the Spangler Center in 2001, building upon the 1927 campus master plan created by McKim, Mead & White. The construction honored the decades-old architectural vision for the Business School's academic facilities.
The building is named after C.D. Spangler, an entrepreneur and former University of North Carolina president who provided funding for its construction.
The center houses project work rooms, a 350-seat auditorium, IT services, a bookstore, and dining facilities for students across its levels. Multiple entrances make it easy to navigate to different areas depending on which spaces you need to access.
The building features three north-facing entrances aligned with Aldrich Hall, while two additional entries open toward the south-facing courtyard. This thoughtful arrangement creates multiple routes through the space and allows different movement patterns based on how students use it throughout the day.
