Neff Round Barn

The Neff Round Barn is a circular agricultural structure in Potter Township with a diameter of about 88 feet (27 meters) and a height of about 56 feet (17 meters). The building features a conical roof and white pine construction throughout.

The structure was built in 1910 by Calvin R. Neff and Aaron Thomas and was the first round barn of its kind in Centre County. This circular design was a new approach to agricultural building at that time.

The barn represents early 20th-century agricultural innovation, with its circular design influenced by Midwestern farming practices observed during train travels.

The building is visible from outside and offers a clear view of its distinctive circular shape. Access can be limited depending on the season and maintenance work, so it is wise to check ahead.

The structure contains two distinct levels with a limestone foundation and white pine construction, encompassing 6,000 square feet of functional space.
