Beaver Creek Nature Area, Protected nature area in Valley Springs, United States
Beaver Creek Nature Area is a protected reserve near Valley Springs covering around 400 acres with upland woods, river bottom forests, wetlands, and savannah sections. A spring-fed stream flows through the property, supporting diverse wildlife and plant communities.
Early settlers named the location after the beaver population that lived in the winding stream during pioneering times. The land reflects the natural landscape that first inhabitants encountered when establishing communities in the region.
The area hosts an annual Homesteader Day Harvest Festival on the Sunday following Labor Day, where visitors can watch traditional farming demonstrations and see pioneer crafts displayed.
The property sits about 5 miles southeast of Brandon near Interstate 90 Exit 406 and remains open throughout the year. Visitors will find hiking trails, picnic shelters, and restroom facilities on site.
Two trout streams border the property, creating a water-rich setting that supports fishing and birdwatching activities. This combination of waterways and forest makes the space distinctly valuable for nature enthusiasts.
