Hindu Temple of Minnesota

The Hindu Temple of Minnesota is a religious center in the Minneapolis area with 21 different shrine areas inside. Each shrine replicates the design of a temple found in India and displays the variety of architectural traditions from different regions.

The local Hindu community founded this center in the early 1990s to create a place for worship and gathering. The building with its multiple shrine areas was constructed to represent the diversity of Hindu traditions from across India.

The temple serves multiple Hindu traditions and functions as a living space for daily prayers and rituals. Visitors can observe how the community maintains and practices their spiritual beliefs in different areas of the building.

The temple opens during daytime hours on most weekdays and offers longer visiting times on weekends. Guests should be prepared to observe quiet behavior and check which areas are available for visitors who are not practitioners.

The building follows Vastushastra principles, an ancient Indian system that uses mathematical and geometric guidelines in construction. This traditional architectural philosophy aims to create harmony and positive energy within the space.
