Statue of Robert Burns, Bronze memorial in Washington Park Historic District, Albany, US.
The bronze statue depicts Robert Burns seated with a book in his right hand and a traditional Scottish tam in his left hand.
Charles Calverley created this monument in 1888 through funds from Mary McPherson's will, dedicated to honoring the Scottish poet Robert Burns.
Four bronze relief panels on the granite base illustrate Burns' poems: The Cotter's Saturday Night, Tam O'Shanter, Auld Lang Syne, and The Poet Plowman.
The 16-foot-tall monument stands near the entrance of Washington Park, surrounded by a circular path accessible to visitors throughout the year.
The Saint Andrew's Society of Albany funded the conservation of this nineteenth-century memorial in 1978, maintaining its historical importance.
