New York State Education Building, State education headquarters in Albany, United States.

The New York State Education Building features a colonnade of 36 Corinthian columns spanning 590 feet across its white stone facade.

Completed in 1912, this structure marked the first building in the United States specifically constructed to manage state education administration.

The building served as the original home of the New York State Museum and New York State Library until a devastating fire in 1911.

Located near the State Capitol, the Education Building contains offices of the New York State Education Department and administrative services.

The building contains a central rotunda with a glass-and-steel dome that illuminates the interior spaces with natural light.
