One Commerce Plaza, Modern skyscraper in downtown Albany, New York
One Commerce Plaza is a modern 20-story office tower in downtown Albany standing approximately 252 feet tall. The building features a white exterior made of metal composite panels and expansive glass windows that cover much of its facade.
The building was completed in 1971 as a modern office structure with a black glass and white marble exterior. A major renovation in 2007 replaced the marble facade with more durable metal composite panels.
The ground floor contains multiple restaurants in the lobby area, while the upper levels house numerous New York State government departments and private offices.
The building sits on Washington Avenue in downtown Albany and is easily accessible by public transportation or on foot. Ground floor restaurants and shops make it a convenient stop even if you are not visiting for business purposes.
Three individuals sustained injuries when strong winds caused a section of marble to detach from the building exterior on April 30, 2007.
